FDA strikes again: Cheerios now a “drug,” must be “approved”
If the Diamond nuts story were not bad enough—where the FDA declared the nuts a “drug” and threatened to seize the company’s nuts unless they complied—the FDA is now targeting Cheerios for printing health benefits on its boxes. According to the FDA, the cereal box in in “serious violation.” The Wall Street Journal reports,
Hey, General Mills: If you want to say Cheerios is “clinically proven to lower cholesterol,” you better get your whole-grain Os approved as a new drug by the FDA.
That’s what the FDA told the company in this letter, which says the labeling on Cheerios boxes is in “serious violation” of federal rules. The letter continues:
Based on claims made on your product’s label, we have determined that your Cheerios® Toasted Whole Grain Oat Cereal is promoted for conditions that cause it to be a drug because the product is intended for use in the prevention, mitigation, and treatment of disease.
What’s more, the letter says, Cheerios “may not be legally marketed with the above claims in the United States without an approved new drug application.”
Here we go folks! It's time to dismantle the federal government one department at a time starting with the presidency. Elect Ron Paul 2012 !!

Basically, this is saying that ANY healthy foods that we eat are "drugs" and subject to the FDA. With Moochelle pushing healthy eating, they are herding us into complete slavery to the government. We will not be able to eat or drink ANYTHING without Big Brother telling us that we can do so. WTH is happening to the United States? Why are we allowing all these Socialist to rule our Country? Those in office who could do something are doing nothing? WHY???

This is a perfect example of government run amok! What the FDA is now saying about Cheerios, and also said about Diamond walnuts, is a simple nutritional fact, just as Michele Obama is telling school lunch programs they need to serve more fruits and vegetables because the are healthier for our children, as well as all Americns, does this mean that fruits and vegetables are also drugs? All nutritionists agree with Michele Obama, as well as General Mills' Cheerios and Diamond's walnuts claims for better health for their products consumption. So why is the FDA persecuting these common sense claims, agreed to by all nutritionists, so they can exhibit their power over others, as a warning to obey their every mandate, or else. If this isn't government out of control, I don't know what is, or if you could every make and prosecute that claim to get the government off the backs of our citizens, and their corporations.
Does that mean that all of those damn "professional welfare obuma zombie bums" need to get a photo I.D. so they can use food stamps (obuma bucks) to buy the new "drug" Cheerios? If "yes",,, then they can show the same I.D. to VOTE, right… Hell, the demunist party will not allow THAT to happen…. because too many dead people and illegals vote demunist party.

Vegetables lower your cholesterol, so veggies are next to be banned, in fact if you will look at every fruit and vegetable there are nutritional value in them that are healthy and recommended by the heart org. and by doctors.

Well, let me get this straight… They want to ban, limit, or tax the heck out of "unhealthy" things like sodas, chips, etc. and tell us what we shouldn't be eating, but they want to prevent us from knowing what IS healthy.
