“Boot ‘em all”: poll shows Americans would replace all of Congress in one vote
A new poll conducted by NBC and the Wall Street Journal shows that a majority of Americans—left, right, and independent—would vote out every single member of Congress with one check if there were such an option on the ballot. MSNBC reports,
In a country sharply divided on almost every issue, most Americans agree on one thing: they don’t like Congress, and they would vote to replace every single member — even their own — if they had the option.
Fifty-six percent of registered voters say they would vote out every member of Congress if there were a place on the ballot to do so. That’s the highest response in favor of the question since it was first asked in March 2010.
And they say so across the ideological spectrum – with 55 percent of liberals, 55 percent of moderates, and 58 percent of conservatives all feeling the same way.
“We found the one area in which all people in the country agree,” said Republican pollster Bill McInturff, who conducted the survey with Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart.
Combine that with Congress continuing to be at near-record lows in approval at 13 percent and all members of Congress are at risk, McInturff said.

What a shocker! The problem is we can't get "normal" good folks to even run for those offices and if we could it would only be a few to be fed to the wolves in DC. Now if we could replace them all with regular folks it would work out to our advantage, lets go.
The problem is that Washington has become SO corrupt that most "good people" won't go near it!
Amen, Nancy. People with the right intentions, to actually serve the people, would be eaten alive by the corrupt thing that is our federal government.
SO totally agree with your analysis! I would run, but for that very reason!
I would keep my NIKE's on if around those sleezes and have told 2 of mine already! These guys sit on their sorry Keesters and do nothing then hand out hogwash of what they have done with various Bills that have all turned out to be Negatives for the good of the Constitution and or the Good of the American people!!! It is appalling in my way of seeing their actions!
So, what IS a "normal folk?" The unfortunate thing is anyone of those "normal folks" would become corrupt when they got a taste of the good life in DC and got to liking their perceived sense of power. Don't any of you think they wouldn't. It would take someone exceptionall strong in character to resist it. Everyone talks so big, but there would have to be someone great to put in place of all the trash we have in DC right now. Where are we going to get them?
When I speak of normal folks what I am saying is people that have worked for a living in the common arena of life. People who have made a living farming, manufacturing, teaching k-12, living normal ordinary lives. Those types of people who would write and pass bills that were simple and easily understood without all the legalese and government mumbo jumbo. Have you ever tried reading and comprehending a government regulation or contract? There are always countless references, doublespeak, and so much garbage in them as to make it impossible to understand without an interpreter. The worst part is that it is done intentionally to confuse and make it so that the one writing the bill/regulation can re-interpret it the way they want at any time in the future.
That just proves how stupid the US voters are. There are a number of trustworthy, honest reps in office right now, elected in the most recent election. A small minority, yest, but they should stay in office.
I agree. Don't throw out the baby with the bath water. Not that there are very many babies in Congress.
How about we throw out the Bummies as in Butt holes?
TOTALLY AGREE, but you need to understand it is the way the question was put to the people. It was an ALL or NONE question, and I believe these numbers reflect the true sentiment of the American people. Washington is so very corrupt that to fix it, rather than arguing who to keep and who to boot, it would be much more efficient to boot the whole bunch and start over. Have you ever researched what the pay and benefits are for these people we have sent to Washington…it is totally outrageous and teh only short term that that would change is for them to vote on it. LIKE THAT WOULD EVER HAPPEN; they will never upset the gravy train.
But the problem is when the good ones get in and they are juniors. They get the ole cold shoulder and are told right off the bat to play ball or sit on the Bench. This is the old actions of controlling our Representatives and our Senators that might could do a good job if not blocked and cornered bye the Seniors in place. But the Juniors must learn to play hardball and vote against and do not go along with the Seniors games. Oppose them in everyway legitimately possible. Then if they have real integrity Rat on the Bastards to the American Public exposing them publicly. Oh it will be difficult to accomplish much on their own at this point, but some of them need to form the minority of the Good bye standing up and being Counted. Then the Bad and the Ugly will be exposed! The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly cool huh!?
I left out the number one The Ugliest of all obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know! I know! he is in the Executive Branch not the Legislative Branch, but still he is as stated! hmmmmmmm a brain fart, He is Executive Branch could that be akin to an EXECUTION for!!!!!!! Hope Springs Eternal!
Might well be, but who gets to decide. You might like one, I can't stand the same one. What do we do then? I say we boot them all, make it a part-time job with part-time pay & see who REALLY wants to represent their constitutents & WORK, not just pose & make the social scene—at our expense.
The PROBLEM is that they stay in office WAY TOO LONG! There should be TERM LIMITS to keep corruption to a min. NO ONE should be allowed to STAY in office like kennedy, byrd, mccain and a whole host of others. Look at it this way, robert byrd was installed in 1952! When he died just a couple of years ago, he had been in office MY WHOLE LIFE! I was born the year he was installed in office!!! That just invites corruption. We NEED term limits!!!! Two terms for the senate and three for the house. This BS that they need longer in office in order to DO something is WRONG. The REASON they want to stay in office is so they can STEAL as much as they can before they are either voted out or DIE in office!!! They have forgotten they are supposed to work FOR US…instead they are totally working for THEMSELVES!
Boy you hit the nail on the head
Most people I've heard don't include those newest members UNLESS they voted with the pack since they've been there. The ones who have been in multiple terms are usually the ones people discuss voting out.
Absolutely right, Velikovsky! Do people not realize that Congress is comprised of 535 individual legislators, from different states and districts, and who represent a wide variety of beliefs and philosophies? If all 535 current legislators retired tomorrow and were replaced with 535 new ones, what basis is there for thinking they would be any better than the current ones? My guess is that they would probably be worse. Sadly, it's getting to the point where many, if not most, Americans don't really like the kind of government our founders created (as embodied in the U.S. Constitution). Also, some people seem to forget that President Obama can veto anything passed by Congress, unless overridden by a super-majority. The founders intended to make it difficult for government to bring about abrupt changes, based on current popular whims. They believed changes should be carefully considered and thoroughly debated before being enacted.
I agree there are a few who should stay in office, Marco Rubio, Michelle Bachmann and Rand Paul immediately come to mind. We need to clean house again this November and keep doing it until we have a group who listens to us and will turn our country back around, even if it means making unpopular decisions to eliminate unconstitutional programs, like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
The fact remains that congess has an 8% approval, but a near 87% re election rate. That is a citizenry problem. Why o WHY…do we re elect such idiots and malcontents to this body of legislatures?
Because the decent people who should run, won't, because they know that they'll be swallowed alive once they get there. Even those that promise to represent the people, within their freshman year, they're made to comply by the corrupted politicians… play our game, or be a lame duck. Most realize that they can't do anything by themselves, AFTER they get in. That's why we should wipe the slate clean, and just start over, from the ground up.
The people out here are very upset with our Congress – because it is not doing it's job. It's not representing US. Consider this however: Regardless of what goes on in the House, and I'm not a total fan of leadership in the House, NOTHING goes anywhere if it is not presented to the floor of the Senate. One man controls that process and that's Harry Reid. There have been somewhere around thirty-three(33) bills concerning the economy sent to the Senate for consideration in 2011. Three(3) have been brought to the floor for consideration. Harry Reid has SINGLE HANDEDLY blocked nearly everything of value from going through Congress. Just as an aside: This same man blocked consideration of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac changes in the 2007 – 2008 period of time for eighteen (18) months, all by himself, insuring the destruction of the American housing / mortgage finance system. All people know is that nothing is getting done. The failures of Congress (since Republicans dominated the House) are ENTIRELY the fault of HARRY REID. There's where the worst of your anger SHOULD be directed, relative to Congress.
Because ordinary people don't have the money to run for office. It takes thousands , if not millions to run for office. So as a result all of our Reps and Senators are wealthy to begin with. How do they know what it feels like to have to choose between paying the light bill or feeding your family? Most of them have never been without want. They can't even relate to us. Few of them have ever held a job other than in the government. The founding fathers never intended Congress to be a career. It was intended that they go and serve a couple of years and go home to their former jobs. Many of the Congress today have been there 20-40 years. They are jaded. They don't care anymore. They don't want to give up the power to anyone else. They want to continue to line their pockets any way they can while in office. WE CAN VOTE OUT ALL OF THE HOUSE AND 1/3 OF THE SENATE IN NOVEMBER. LET'S DO IT!!!!!!
Me tinks the word may range around complacency and folks lives are hard enough without having to keep up with those that are entrusted with their votes! But thes animals do not care they will tell the public one thing to get re-elected then do the opposite knowing that most Americans will forget about that little trespass and lie bye the next election. Sometimes they may even throw in doing one good thing just before election time to get a great big attaboy and reelected! Remember these crafty scumbags are in many ways Satanic in nature!
perhaps Narcisicisstic would be closer description?
Term limits for Congress would solve the problem – it would end the power grabs by those who live in their seats in Congress till they die – and it would cut the power of the special interest groups. Another benefit would be that it would be hard for any of them to become multi-millionaires in Congress! We MUST start a referendum and get that placed on the ballot. Then, we need to take away Congress' right to have a salary increase without it coming to the people on the ballot during a general election! No more Congress getting outrageous raises while some idiot agency says "there was no cost of living this year," so those of us trying to live on our paltry SS do not get a COLA! No raise for Congress unless there is a COLA for those who worked for SS – and NO SS for people who never paid into the system! i worked 40+ years for mine – usually two jobs to "make it" and raise my kids – yet, that money stolen from me over those years never earned one red cent of interest! So, we can BOOT 'EM OUT by demanding term limits for Congress!
"…the question Christians should be asking is whether term limits are Biblical. Consider Solomon’s wisdom: 'For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.' (Proverbs 28:2)
"Yahweh intends the term of a ruler who keeps His law to be protracted: 'And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book … that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom….' (Deuteronomy 17:18-20)
"The Constitution provides that the United States be ruled by ruler after ruler, which is part of Yahweh’s judgment against our sinful nation. Although term limits prevent corrupt officials from serving any longer than their terms allow, they permit them to serve as long as their terms allow. Term limits are a Band-Aid on a self-inflicted wound….." Excerpted from "Article 2: Executive Usurpation" at http://www.missiontoisrael.org/biblelaw-constitut….

I Like TedR, Thanks will follow through!
Ted: Do you believe that Christianity is based solely on the Old Testament? The only references you cite are from that Testament. What about the New Testament, which quotes Jesus (the Son of Yahweh, according to the New Testament), as saying "my Kingdom is NOT of this world". Also in the NT, the Apostle Paul says of we Christians that "we are IN the world, be we are not OF the world". As I understand the meaning of the New Testament, it is not our mission as Christians to establish a government on this earth (i.e., this present life), but rather to make the gospel of Christ known to as many individuals as possible in this world, so that they too may become believers and gain "eternal life" in the "Kingdom of Heaven". According to scripture, it is not the goal of Christianity to establish the "Kingdom of God" in this life nor on this present earth. I believe it is very erroneous, and indeed dangerous, to conflate human governance in this life with God's eternal, spiritual Kingdom.
James, the very term "Christian" dictates a New Covenant relationship with Yahweh via His son's redeeming blood sacrifice and resurrection from the grave. However, this relationship does not negate Yahweh's kingdom nor His law under the New Covenant. I understand your perspective on the kingdom, one I used to hold myself, but I now believe it and the teaching that Yahweh's law is no longer relevant for all areas of life under the New Covenant are two of the principle reasons why Christendom has become merely Christianity, salt that's lost its savor and good for nothing but to be trampled under the foot of man (Matthew 7:13).
If you're inclined, I would recommend "Law and Kingdom: Their Relevance Under the New Covenant" at http://www.missiontoisrael.org/law-kingdom.php. If you prefer the book itself, let me know via our contact button and I'll be pleased to send you a complimentary copy.
Following is a sample from this book:
"Many Christians reject these inescapable facts of Yahweh’s sovereignty, believing He has no kingdom at present or that His kingdom is limited to heaven. They lift their favorite proof text from John 18: 'Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.' (John 18:36)
"The exact same Greek phrase ek toú kósmou, translated 'not of this world,' is used several times and is explained in the preceding chapter: 'I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world…. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.' (John 17:14-18)
"Clearly ek toú kósmou does not mean Yahweh’s kingdom exists only in heaven. Although it is certainly true that His kingdom is not of this world, this does not mean that He does not intend for it to be in this world. His statement in John 18 is better understood to mean that His kingdom is nothing like the other kingdoms in this world. As someone once said, 'The only kingdom that will prevail in this world is the kingdom that is not of this world.”'
I AM ALL FOR TERM LIMIT NOW
LETS GO FOR IT
JUST SEE HOW FAST THEY WAKE UP
Jayleigh I am with you completely on that one all the way and all of the numbers you quoted just about match up perfectly for me as well!
Term limits are simply a means of taking the choice of leaders out of the hands of the people. What if you have a congressmen who is doing an excellent job and the voters want him to stay in office? To set an arbitrary time limit is to weaken the power of the people to choose their own representatives. If the people are ignorant or gullible enough to repeatedly elect a bad representative, then they get what they deserve! If people don't like the salaries their representatives pay themselves, then vote them out! That's what elections are for.
you are right ss has been abused for years.
Not only do we need term limits, but we need any Congressional job to be part-time and force them to work a second job to make ends meet like so many of us have to do.
We don't need a Congress that, after serving only 1 term, get "paid for life".
Congress needs to be forced to live by the same rules the rest of have to live by.
Congress will never change their attitudes until "WE THE PEOPLE" boot all those who can't be trusted out.
I'd like to see an option also for which federal agencies to terminate starting with the EPA and IRS. All unnecessary agencies, committees, and other B.S. gone! For the displaced dumb bureaucrats fired by the people for making everyone's life miserable via their inane rules and regs, good riddance! Can the Congress and vote ABO in 2012.
How about Supreme Court Justices???!!!! These jerks and their radical personnal application to law which they are not supposed to do. But this is Human nature and they need to stick to strict interpretation and ruling to the Law in and of itself! Special interest group and minority favortism ruling be hanged. This Country founded on Christian principles should still be in place. Thus stop the usless slaughter of human beings, and stop the infiltration of our military with the you know whats and who's. Not to mention the rulings for them as different bye Birth. Get Real That is chosen and they know it, They blow more than each other for they are blowing smoke up a lot of peoples rear lower posterior oriface, if you know what I mean!
there is to many duplications of departments between fed and state depts. some could be eliminated and save a lot of money.
smaller government.
Boot out all the scoundrels – and then what? If history proves anything, gullible Americans will only vote in some more scoundrels to replace the ones they just booted. America's election system is nothing but a political shell game. "After every election, regardless who’s elected, Americans eventually have cause for regret (Proverbs 29:2). And yet, every four years, they march right back to the voting booths with eternal hope (or is it merely short-sightedness?) and do it all over again. Elections provide us with a lose-lose proposition. On the other hand, when we have two or more Biblically qualified candidates, we end up with a servant of God, regardless who’s appointed." Why don't we just tke them all starting with obama, biden, and billary and ChuteEm Man! a bit of humor there me bucko's!
The “sorry truth” is that only after we replace a large majority of the currently elected representatives, replace them with newly elected reps, will we ever be able to get an amendment to the Constitution for term limits. Ask yourself, have you even know a spoiled child to makes changes that causes them to not continue to be spoiled, of course you haven’t. And our spoiled elitists will never allow anything that will cost them their power and wealth. The “original thoughts” about serving the Nation, coming to the end of a term, and then, returning home to become, once again, a common citizen has been ended by the “Professional Politician”, a worthless, self-serving Cretan who serves only for personal benefit and ego enhancement. Think not, I give you Harry Reid, John McCain, BHO…………………….
I would kick out all of the Senate too as they are incompetent and mostly evil
Day be bad dudes dontchaknow!?
We may not like Congress these days – why should we? The white house keeps repeating the mantra that Congress has very low popularity. Truth be known, so does the white house. There is a Constitution to follow, and the only people I see not following it operate in said white house. Think about it. Who talks about going over the head of Congress and ignores them, except to insult.? Who got involved in a war without the permission of the people who had the right to decide? We have been overwhelmed with issues – if there isn't one, one is created. To beat them up and then say they're worthless does not make sense.
That's the Marxist intent… to create issues, crisis after crisis, and keep the American people off balance, while they take over the country. The Marxists and Progressives in Congress (both houses, AND the WH) are what is causing our country to fail now.
kodster: I agree with you. And if people don't read or listen to those with knowledge of the facts, they won't know what's happening in the WH. Transparency? That was a false statement. My best advice is to watch http://www.foxnews.com Those "leading" us say what they want us to hear and hope we believe it. If you have not tuned into Fox, try it. You'll get both sides of the coin, and then you choose which you want.
Now would not this be viewed as diversionary sight from him to them! And while we are looking at them he is doing his Nasty and Dirty deeds behind the backs of all, knowing, that to undo will take an ACT of WHO? CONGRESS THATS WHO, and we are now back to where we started! Amazing HUH!? This guy is the original Circle jerk specialist and has learned how to manipulate the system and was in fact teaching it to the Chicago Ketsey Ghetto Animals! How to Use and Abuse the System 101 bye bho or his is bo (BO) body odor!
Wad I say ya'll? wad I say?huh? Huh? huh??????????????????
I go along with everyone else…boot them all out and lets start with some really honest folks that won't forget who they are working for. After Obama skipped that cout order in Georgia, perhaps we could start with him.
Well good point, but it was some Demobrat congress that got all of this started in the first place!
Yes, along with some Republicans and Soros, the Unions, etc. Georgia is the begining of bringing him down and other States are ready in the wings.
Many are posting the desire to put into place term limits for the congressional rat pool, we already have that by way of the voting booth. The problem is there are to many who will re-elect their same representative because just before an election they will do one thing that helps, or appears to help, their state/county/city. It's all a big game that most of the population does not understand and most don't want to be bothered with. The general public is to busy to get involved in the process and doesn't care because they don't understand what is at stake.
And you have provided the perfect reason for legal term limits.
The only problem with the term limits is, what if you finally do find that one representative that will do what the people ask them to? You must admit that they are few and far between, then you could not keep them in place. A conundrum isn't it.
We can start with term limits this election by booting all those that are in. Replace them with whom ever says they will push for term limits, and do away with a life long retirement. We will end up with more to the Teaparty type, but perhaps enough good people will be elected. Heck I would have no problem to be elected to a 2 year term, and then get a Pension for life. It is time to wake up people, I will not vote for anyone presently in office, and I even like my Congressman, and Senator.
Joel, as always you have done an excellent job of bringing this thought to our attention, and you haven't said whether you think it is a good or bad idea.
But in my opinion, throwing out the entire Congress is idiotic, ungrateful, and suicidal. Yes, there are many Nancy Pelosis and Barney Franks in Congress, but there are also Michele Bachmanns, Todd Akins and Stephen Kings who have devoted their lives to fighting for conservative Christian principles. To reward these people by voting them out of office in favor of people who are inexperienced and untested, is the height of ingratitude.
Congress is in gridlock today, because the American people are sharply divided. But if that prevents Congress from passing legislation, that's not necessarily a bad thing. One conservative Iowa congressman I used to know, was reported as saying that if a man went to Congress and did nothing but vote "no," he'd be right 99% of the time.
Congress functions best when it includes new people with fresh ideas and experienced people who know the ropes. And we already have term limits — whenever the people of a district believe their congressman has served too long, they can vote him out.
Richie, if more would take your view of replacing their own senators and representatives we would be much better off, however most will not. Most look at congress and say to themselves, "If only that other state would replace their people in congress".
Right. The Libs would like to replace ALL the Republicans.
In my oppinion, the reason the percentage is up over last March is because there used to be a Liberal Majority and the Libs would not want to vote them out. Now we have a Republican Majority the are right with us to vote them all out.
I have feeling that it wouldn't matter if we replaced them all. It's about the voters changing their political beliefs and habits. Seems like now day voters want to implement social issues into the Federal government – both conservative and liberal voters. Until we change our perception of the role of the Federal and State governments, our political situation will never change.
They all need to go the ones that have been in offace more then 5 years the longer they are in there the more pwer thay want I would love to boot them out this year they are scum and they dont care about us only them selfs we need to fight to get turm limits iin
what you talkin bout administrator willis!?
Some one sent me this quote a couple days ago. This blog and this timing is a good place to post this.
"Frankly, I don't know what it is about California, but we seem to have a strange urge to elect really obnoxious women to high office. I'm not bragging, you understand, but no other state, including Maine, even comes close. When it comes to sending left-wing dingbats to Washington, we're number one. There's no getting around the fact that the last time anyone saw the likes of Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Maxine Waters, and Nancy Pelosi, they were stirring a cauldron when the curtain went up on 'Macbeth'. The four of them are like jackasses who happen to possess the gift of blab. You don't know if you should condemn them for their stupidity or simply marvel at their ability to form words."
Flabbergasted to say the least!
Well, this election cycle, we will get the chance to boot out all 435 representatives and 1/3 of all the senators, as well as being able to purge the imposter from the White House. I suggest that we take this opportunity to do something very important for our nation and for ourselves. Do it while we still can. Vote. For God's sake, VOTE.
i'd like to see term limits on all the judges too. no more life appointments
I don’t see why a 6 or 8 year limit could not be placed on all Supreme Court justices’ terms. “Senile in Office” would no longer be the norm.
Also, there should be some sort of an intelligence test to qualify to run for any government office. Here in Florida, we have a severe embarrassment holding political office, Debbie Wasserman-Shultz.
I would like to personally apologize on behalf of the citizens of Florida for this pathetic socialist/Marxist/communist sympathizer being placed in office by the ignorance and stupidity of the voters and the apathy and intellectual sloth of those that did not vote for a suitable candidate.
God bless America, and, by all means people, vote using your brain this election!!!
Seems we've heard this sentiment over and over again these past few years, yet voters refuse to break free of the regimented control by our establishment parties. There has been an impressive alternative means available since 2007 by which we can choose our own "replacement candidates", but voters lack the initiative to break free of dictates by their parties. No one is suggesting a third party, but a revolutionary "process" for choosing who will run in our districts. There's no reason to think that "we the people" are incapable of selecting our own Republican or Democrat congressional candidates, yet we continue to let the establishment dictate our choices. Once again, Texas is the only state who has the sense to do this through a process called GOOOH, which stands for "Get Out Of Our House". Candidates are chosen through a process of our peers and placed on the ticket under the existing parties, with their campaigns financed through this national organization. It's truly impressive to hear from our peers, just how informed and how sensible these ordinary folks are! So, quit complaining and do something about it……….. visit http://www.GOOOH.com….. Replacing every one of our House representatives absolutely WOULD matter, certainly more so than burying our head in the sand again.
I failed to address the standard argument that says… but what about all those "good representatives" like King, Bachman, etc. Why can't these reliable conservatives become our Senatorial candidates, thereby giving them an even longer term? How about we design our term limit rules to simply impose a limit on "consecutive" terms, thereby allowing them to compete for re-election in another cycle after sitting out a term or two. There are a number of ways for these good candidates to continue to contribute, but the goal should be to keep politics from becoming a "career" for anyone, even the good ones. Our founding principles called for "citizen representatives" who would serve, then return to their regular lives. This, more than anything else, would keep them honest.
How about 'two terms= go home"! We need to dispense with options for lifetime office holding. 2 terms….go home and live your life. Oh, and by the way…no lifetime pension. Do your duty. Just like our military. Do it…go home. If anyone should get a pension, it's our military. Not those pampered politicians in Washington.
How about no more than two consecutive terms. If you want to occupy the same seat, you must stay out of the same term you were in before entering the ring again? That way, we insure they are not just waiting out one term campaigning.
Why can't the states set term limits? Can it not go on the state ballot? That way the electorate would know, going in, how long, the pay and retirement (?) would be.
So, Everybody wants to boot out Congress: Right, Left, Independent. Not surprising. And along comes Obama saying what we need is to speed up the process: give the Executive Branch more power so we can get things done. Wonder if this is all part of the schemed process. We will say what a job you are doing. We will love him. Seig Hiel! Seig Hiel! or Obama is the man!!! Obama!
And if we disagree, ICE comes, or the other security. We are then marked as terrorist and hauled away.
I like how just about everybody here knows it's all about the Unions.
I believe ALL people in the Capitol should have term limits.Only 1 each. That would weaken their Powers to hurt We The
People and actually make them the Servants to the Nation,GOD and the Founders meant for them to be! Perhaps, then, they'd
be able to identify with us and have some Humility. They are supposed to be Statespeople NOT career politicians! And LORD
knows we can't trust some of the Common People to elect somebody Better and New if such is available! So,term limits of one or 2 years in the Legislature is DEFINITELY ENOUGH!
Voters have the option to vote these people out — but when they go to the ballot box, they simply check the same people over and over again. Everyone is up in arms over the gridlock, but the reality is, the newer members of congress elected last year are doing what they were elected to do — block as much of the nonsense from the liberals as they can. If voters want all of Obama's socialist agendas to sweep through congress without objection, then by all means, replace the conservatives with liberals and say goodbye to everything that made this country great.
Yes, term limits and maybe even an every-two-year meeting with a pay-cut if the work ain't done would help as suggested by Rick Perry recently. However, this poll is so misleading because each and every one of these guys has their core supporters and will not leave voluntarily – and the Congressmen that each of the respondents was referring to was not theirs. Our angst should be addressed against those who would not stand up for what they were sent there to do. If they are not espousing conservative principals we should fight against them – not remove those who are trying to do as we ask – they are outnumbered.
Don’t vote them out — KILL THEM!

There are a few I would like to see stay in like Rubio, West, DeMint, Bachmann, Rand Paul and Joe Walsh. The rest starting with Bawl Baby Boner, Pelosi, Reid, Rangel etc. should be voted out.
What burns me up more than anything is that idiots keep on voting these same crooks into office over and over and over again. And it's not only Congress. Obama is the worst president in this country's history and a lot of people are going to vote for him again. Okay, we all know blacks will vote by race every time no matter how incompetent or corrupt the black candidate is and they'll do the same thing again with Obama in 2012. But why are so many white fools going to vote for him again? It's amazing that people can be so stupid.
How could you leave out the SENATE???? Harry Reid is the most distructive leader in the senate. Why not take a poll on the senate???? How about all the bills that go to the senate and are never put on the floor. So let's be fair and take a vote on the senate. The buck stops there
Pelosi is quitting -Frank is quitting etc. etc.– what is the old saying- when the ship is sinking all the RATS leave first! Trouble is they are leaving with our tax dollars in tow-and leaving all their B.S. luggage behind – sad part is -we are going to let them do it, and get away with it! A year from now they , the RATS will be re-affiliating them selves with OUR government as advisers and speakers-like MR. CIGAR SOAKING -(BILL CLITON) at a six figure price tag each occurance! That is not taking their full re-tirement pay and benifits for all those good things they have done for us over the years —–NOT! That in it self is B.S.!
How are we to elect better representatives to Congress when we are still proving we cannot elect a better representive as President? For instance, Ron Paul defends America best by defending our Constitution first. But that is considered to be a nutcase idea. And who are the front-runners? — fruitcakes Romney and Gingrich!
Romney has a Sci-fi-Hindu-based Mormon religion which says that we are reincarnated on another planet in our transformation into gods. Gingrich panders to out-of-work Space Shuttle employees in Florida by saying that we need to have a permanent manned station on the moon and make them citizens and the 51st State. I knew Ginrich was a New World Order guy (NWO), but did not realize he was really a New Galaxy Order guy (NGO). NGO is also means UN Non-Governmental Organization, which is what a lunar colony would be called.
I honestly believe the problem exists with Congress because of the laws they pass do not have the approval of the people the way they used to be. Yes folks, Congress after voting on proposed laws and their amendments used to have to send those laws out to the people of this nation for theirn approval or disapproval prior to the Presidents signature. This was included in the Jefferson Manual. This changed after the early 1900's when the Speaker of the House decided that it slowed down government business too much and the House adapted their own rules which they currently use today along with the Senate. Back before this change by the Speaker of the House, the people of this nation actually had a say as to what the laws would be since we could approve or disapprove of the proposed laws, rules, and or regulations that are lawmakers create. This system should be returned so we could have OUR say as to the laws that our lawmakers propose.
It is the voters that continue to reelect these people term after term. If you do not like your representative or senator at any level of government, then it is up to each of us to get out and vote against them. I just relocated from AR and was stunned when I went to vote and many post were unchalleged. We need to be more involved in the election process. If a candidate is unchallenged look for a challenger.
This is NOT news as it is more than apparent to even the most casual observer.
The real headline news item should be: NBC is still in business
The fact that there is an 8% approval rating, and those crooks are still safely occupying their offices is a travesty. All of these crroks should be thrown out immediately. They created the massive loss of jobs in this country, and know they say they are going to bring home the jobs. They created the bank crisis by mandating that lending institutions lower their previously responsible lending practices, inducing a landslide of repossessions and plummeting property values. The war in Iraq was a culmination of many years of creating an enemy and then actually making a reason to spend yet more money to go to war against this enemy.
The long and short of it, the Congress, Senate, and the Presidents of the USA have grossly defrauded the American people for at least 70 years. This business of fighting terrorism has resulted in less and less rights the the American people fought and died for over 200 hundred years ago.
In God I trust. In Government not much.
When the government fears the people there is liberty, When the people fear the government there is tyranny.
