Samuel L. Jackson: “I voted for Obama because he was black”

by Joel McDurmon on Feb 13, 2012

Former Black Power activist turned Hollywood actor, star of smash hits Snakes on a Plane, and profanity-ridden Pulp Fiction, Samuel L. Jackson, cut to the chase this weekend, in an interview with Ebony magazine. Jackson admitted, “I voted for Obama because he was black.”

In the kind of display of reason and ethics we’ve come to expect from our Hollywood role-models, Mr. Jackson explained,

“‘Cuz that’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them … That’s American politics, pure and simple. [Obama's] message didn’t mean [bleep] to me.”

So we have racism and a herd mentality. Except, Jackson may be a front runner in admitting he consciously chose and adheres to a herd mentality.

Then followed a line of racist profanity that would have instigated outrage, shock, and perhaps violence had most other people uttered it:

Jackson then went on to drop the N-word several times when discussing Obama, telling the mag, “When it comes down to it, they wouldn’t have elected a [bleep]. Because, what’s a [bleep]? A [bleep] is scary. Obama ain’t scary at all. [Bleeps] don’t have beers at the White House. [Bleeps] don’t let some white dude, while you in the middle of a speech, call [him] a liar. A [bleep] would have stopped the meeting right there and said, ‘Who the [bleep] said that?’ I hope Obama gets scary in the next four years, ‘cuz he ain’t gotta worry about getting re-elected.”

  1. At least somebody's honest as racist as that was. It's true though. People tend to do that. Vote for whoever looks pretty to them. Why do you think they get plastic surgery? Why do you think people vote for the lesster of the two evils instead of somebody that's Constitutionally sound? Yes, granted that there are other elements involved such as the economy and war, but one candidate will be favored over the other and it won't be for the right reason.

    • True. And evidently, Jackson isn’t smart enough to search out who the real leader ought to be; so resorted to the lazyman’s way: go with ‘color’. What a dupe.

  3. Any action taken because of a person’s skin color is the highest and purest form of racism.

  5. Hello,
He did not actually say it that way, and I will guarantee that it will be all-right with all the other people around him. Less just say it is very funny that they keep saying that "ONLY" white people are racist. Will someone please tell me how that is true??

    • If I remember correctly, some years back, Congress decided that a minority cannot be considered racist. Only a Majority can be racists over a minority group. If that's the case, The W.A.S.P. must be pretty close to being a minority to all the other groups of Non-whites in the Countery.

  7. "I hope Obama gets scary in the next four years, ‘cuz he ain’t gotta worry about getting re-elected."

I thought Obama's vagrant violation of the constitution and the Bill of rights, violating EVERY Americans rights and freedom with no recourse, is scary enough. If Obama is "holding back" who knows how bad he will destroy our freedoms!

  9. Hardly news at all here – S.L. Jackson just said what everyone already knows.

What do we expect from those who spend more time choosing the next 'American Idol' than they do the next executive leader of our Republic?

    Stupid should hurt.

  10. I always wanted to play in his ($1000.00 entry fee) Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Now I wouldn't play if he paid me $1000.00

  11. Well…at last a public figure who is truthful and frank and honest! Mr. Jackson should be commended for his blunt honesty, even though he was a bit crude in expressing himself. Too bad Obama is not as honest as Jackson! Perhaps Jackson should run for president – he could not be worse than what we have now.
