Not wanting to be outdone by Warren Buffet in his zeal for leading the reviled 1% into the national shearing shed, multimillionaire horror fiction authorStephen King recently unleashed an F bomb-laden tirade demanding that his income tax rate—and more importantly the tax rate of everyone else whomWashington decides to label “rich”—be jacked up to 50%.
Mocking the recommendation that rich people who feel the way he does send an extra check to Uncle Sam, King warned that if millionaires and billionaires are not forced to pay up in the name of reducing income inequality, they will end up like Marie Antoinette, literally beheaded by the growing fury of the Occupy Movement.
King wrote [warning on the link: profanity],
At a rally in Florida (to support collective bargaining and to express the socialist view that firing teachers with experience was sort of a bad idea), I pointed out that I was paying taxes of roughly 28 percent on my income. My question was, “How come I’m not paying 50?” . . .
[T]hose who have received much must be obligated to pay—not to give, not to “cut a check and shut up,” in Governor Christie’s words, but to pay. . . .
