A first-grader at South Boston elementary last week found himself suddenly attacked, choked, and unable to breath on the school bus. That’s when he says he reacted in self-defense: he kicked the aggressor in the groin.
School officials are now investigation the boy for sexual harassment. The boy’s mother reports being told by the school, “Your son kicked a little boy in the testicles. We call that sexual harassment.”
The mother won’t hear it: “He’s 7 years old. He doesn’t know anything about sexual harassment. . . He couldn’t breathe. He was trying to defend himself. . . . I don’t find that sexual harassment. I find that defending himself.”
The attacker had been bullying the young boy for some time, and now was trying to steal his gloves, reports CBS Boston.
The school is now calling the mother to attend a disciplinary hearing, while the mother is demanding an apology and better supervision on the school bus.
She would be wise to show up at that hearing only with a lawyer present.
