Republicans break pledge, introduce $1 trillion, 1200-page unread bill
House Republicans have proposed a $1 trillion short-term spending bill funding government in the short-term, but also including pork and cutting spending by less than one percent.
The bill, sitting currently at 1,200 pages, would break a pledge many Republicans made previously not to engage in these very tactics. Bloomberg reports,
Some Republicans expressed qualms about their party’s strategy. Representative Jeff Flake, an Arizona Republican, said lawmakers will be asked to vote on legislation they won’t have enough time to read. “It goes against a lot of what we’ve said we were going to do,” he said.
The party’s campaign “Pledge to America” last year said “we will end the practice of packaging unpopular bills with ‘must-pass’ legislation” and “instead, we will advance major legislation one issue at a time.”
Included in the massive spending is a pork provision “to expedite construction of an oil pipeline from Canada to Texas.”
The bill also adopts the practice—previously criticized by conservatives during the Obamacare debates—of pressuring massive bills without adequate time to read them. At least some Republicans still oppose this even when their own party adopts the practice:
Representative Tim Huelskamp, a Kansas Republican, said yesterday he was withholding judgment because he wasn’t sure what would be in the legislation, which was released early today.
“I’m not going to vote for something unless I have a pretty good idea of what’s in it and right now, we don’t,” Huelskamp said. “I’ve got to see what’s in it.”
According to the report, Republican leaders are planning to fast-track the vote for Friday, December 16.

According to Yahweh – well, that leaves Democrats out of the process entirely.
The sad fact of the matter is, it leaves out the Republicans, Libertarians, and Constitutionalists as well. At the best, the best of them they are as Malachi 2:9 puts it, partial in Yahweh's law – and most reject His morality as found in His perfect law and altogether righteous judgments (Psalm 19:7-11) outright.

The oil pipeline is an investment, the oil will come here og go to china. We have to reduce the dependance on nidle east oil. Canada is and always will be a good partner. The pipeline will produce jobs which we need . The goverment will get this investment back, unlike GM where we will never see a dime. The remainder I like the rest of you have no idea what is in it.

I normally vote repub but the only way to fix the goverment is for the american people to look at a politicians history and voting record, clean the public schools and universities of liberalism bias, get rid of lib media-state run media, have a serious budget amendment-giving a politician money is like giving cocaine to an addict. Americans keep thinking their entitled to everything and this will cause their demise-they have been brainwashed by experts.

How to brainwash a nation.
Here are the four steps:
Demoralization (immorality, basically getting everyone used to it, thinking it's normal, and moral people are the bad folks)
Destabilization (of the economy, politics, etc.)
Crisis (caused by immorality and destabilization, which replaces the old government with a new controlling regime)
Normalization (as everyone gets used to the new regime)
Earnie I am sorry to say that your comment Boehner is worst than Obama. Sorry no one nothing could be worst than obama. I am so sorry and disappointed that the Republicans have broken their word. However, because they did I sure am not going to run back and vote for a democrat. It is my belief that for one party to control the entire government is a disaster. One because you now have one platform running the whole country and there is no representation for half the country. It also lends itself to poor legislation, because legislation (proposed or passed) has one point of view (poor discussion) and it gets passed. Finally when one party is in control there is no one to watch the crooks and if one of their own gets caught it gets swept under the carpet. However, in this case obummer is a disaster for this country I sure am hopeful that he does get washed out of office because of his extreme left views and his ivy tower plans. His views are extreme, confusing and really out of touch with reality.
To fix these problems, it is going to be necessary for one party to run things. There is no such thing as bipartisanship anymore, because the world views of both sides are worlds apart now. What we need, though, is the right people – hundreds like the Tea Party freshman voted in in 2010. Then things will change for the better.
Why do they have a 1200 page bill when they know it won't be read? Why don't they break it down and act on it accordingly. This is what happened with Obamacare and there were other bills that were passed as well. What a way to run a country!! I regret trusting and believing our government when they were so corrupt. But the adage: ( Money is the root of all evil) is so true and it applies to small towns as well.
I don't understand how the greatest legal document ever written (our Constitution) can fit in the palm of our hand and has held this Nation together for 235 years, yet today's 'law makers' feel the need to include 1,000s of pages for one issue (the National debt in this case). I'm sure if there were a law that said that EVERY bill needed to be read and discussed by EVERY member of Congress in full before being passed, there would be no choice but to trim the fat. Either that, or our Representatives would be working 24/7 to get their jobs done. I have to wonder what other little goodies are buried in this bill. It appears the entire Congress is adopting Nancy's attitude of pass it first, and find out what's in it later. Our Government has a whole Nation of drones to pick up the tab after all, so why should they even care? Those guys are set for life regardless. I think the next bill they need to pass is the 28th Amendment putting Congress on the same level as the American people, making them abide by the same laws they make. Too, we need to strip them of their cushy retirement benefits and stick them in the same Social Security system they've been destroying since its creation. The only other cure for our economical woes I can imagine is to put Ron Paul in the White House. You can bet the fat would be trimmed immediately, if the people were only that smart.

The Keystone XL Pipeline is NOT pork!! It's a major step toward independence from Middle Eastern oil and it will provide jobs for Americans when desperately needed. Canada has threatened to run the pipeline to their western border and ship the oil to China if we don't commit to the deal. Obama abstained yet again from making a decision that the voters could hold against him from either side depending on his decision of yea or nea. Check his Congressional record as a Jr Senator from Illinois, he abstained from most votes then too. He is the consummate con-man. Presenting the face he needs depending on whom he's addressing. He's a fraud and a liar not too mention anti-American. America won't survive another 4 years of the socialist coup being perpetrated by Obama and his enablers in Congress. Anyone But Obama 2012!!
