Iranian-based PressTV reports a Taliban attack raining nine long-range missiles upon the the U.S. airbase in Bagram on New Years Eve:

A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said on Sunday that fatalities had been caused after the militants hit the US Bagram Air Base in the north of the Afghan capital Kabul with nine missiles.

He added that they launched the attack when the US forces were celebrating the start of the new year.

Afghan officials also announced that the heavily-fortified airbase had been hit by a barrage of rockets, but claimed that the attack had not caused any casualties.

Another report from the same outlet’s U.S. desk says the attacks killed “dozens of soldiers.”

The story has gotten no traction in any Western news outlet; none of the mainstream media seem to have mentioned it. This could indicate it’s not true, or that western sources don’t see it as significant, or wish to suppress it.
